Working Characteristics
 

• Normal  load is a PR-414 antenna drawing 70 mA (DC) continuous
• Current at AC fuse is then typically 28mA (AC)

• Current measured at AC fuse typically 142 mA (AC) when antenna port shorted.
• Current measured at DC fuse typically 670 mA (DC) when antenna port shoted.

• The AC is fused with 100mA fuse at 110 VAC input  (110 strapping)
• The AC is fused with 50mA fuse at 220 VAV input    (220 strapping)
• The DC fuse is 200 ma

Most common fault on active antenna systems are:
 

• Short on coax connector.  (to see a demonstration photo click here)
• Open on coax connector   (often caused by water entering a splice or connector and erroding of the copper center conductor through electrolysis.)
• Blown fuse
